Gunnar Cyrén

Gunnar Cyrén (1931–2013) is celebrated as one of Sweden’s most influential designers, admired both nationally and internationally. He began his career at Orrefors in 1959, where he created numerous iconic glass series over the years. In 1991, Cyrén designed the Nobel Collection to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Nobel Prize Gala, a work that remains a hallmark of elegance and craftsmanship. Throughout his career, he received numerous honors, including the Swedish Royal Scholarship, the Lunning Prize, and the Prince Eugen Medal, and in 1992 he was appointed professor by the Swedish government in recognition of his outstanding contributions to design.nt
