Göran Wärff (1933–2022) was both a designer and an artist, deeply inspired by the sea and its ever-changing character across the world.
He described glass as liquid — a material that, in its transformative nature, offers endless design possibilities. This fascination with glass's fluidity is what shaped his creative process throughout his career.
Wärff drew inspiration from the play of light in nature, emotional sketching, and the joy of craftsmanship. His works span global landmarks, including the Sydney Opera House, the mosque in Abu Dhabi, the cathedral in Växjö, and the IMO UN building in London.
He received numerous honors, including the prestigious Lunning Prize alongside Ann Wolff, and the Excellent Swedish Form award for his iconic Limelight collection at Kosta Boda.
